The government will do everything in its power to prevent an increase in the price of bread, the Prime Minister said yesterday (Thu) after the country's bakers and millers' associations announced the rise for autumn."As far as we are concerned, we will do everything in our power so that this does not happen. However, this must be discussed," Kosor said.She also reiterated the need to share the burden of the crisis. "It must be repeated that in these difficult times of crisis everyone must make their contribution – from members of the government to merchants," she said.The millers and bakers announced the price increase after weather destroyed much of Europe's wheat crops, hiking up the prices of raw materials.
