Turkish cult soap opera couple in Zagreb

The stars of the Turkish soap opera "1,001 Nights" that has taken Croatia by storm are in Zagreb filming a commercial for Croatia's Agrokor Group.One of the protagonists of the most-watched TV show in Croatia, Halit Ergenc, arrived in the country's capital on Sunday. His wife and series' co-star Bergazur Korel – better known as Scheherazade – is expected on Tuesday.The couple will then start filming the commercial on Wednesday, the Croatian media reports.The 40-year-old Ergenc - who media have dubbed the Turkish Brad Pitt - seemed caught off guard by the photographers' ambush at the Ljubljana (Slovenia) airport where his plane from Istambul landed after a flight to Zagreb was cancelled due to bad weather. He quickly recovered, however, and seemed disposed to humour the journalists."I am very excited about coming here and I am rather curious as to what awaits me in Zagreb. I received the script for the commercial not so long ago. It is a little bit different from the ones I had been doing so far, but I like it, it is interesting," he told those gathered before he went into the meeting with Agrokor to discuss the details.While he does not speak Croatian yet, the smiling actor said that he will have enough time in the next few days to learn a few words, the daily Jutarnji List writes.
