A 50-year-old Romanian tourist who was beaten by an acquaintance in an apartment near Pula on July 27 has died of his injuries at the local hospital.On the night of the incident, several men had been drinking in their rented apartment in Pula. Around 1am a heated row ensued between the Romanian and his pal, another tourist from Poland. In the physical fight that followed, the Pole punched the other man who fell onto the floor - receiving severe injuries in the process.Three other men – one German citizen and two Polish – fled the apartment when they saw that the man was not getting up from the floor. The owner of the apartment called the emergency services.The three men were arrested but let go soon after questioning. They are charged with failure to provide assistance to a seriously injured person.The 56-year-old Polish citizen accused of the crime is being held in detention.
